Fabricator & Welder

We seek experienced fabricators to work on our unique services in welding, fabricating, and mechanical.

Lucas MWF is in search of an experienced fabricator who can enhance our fabrication team. This position will expose you to a wide variety of projects both in the shop and out in the field. This means that this position will be subject to the elements and the applicant must understand proper preparations for individual working conditions. He/she will also need to be self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and collaborate in a team environment.

  • Weld Test: A weld test will be mandatory

Position Details

  • Full time, year-round
  • Hourly, weekly pay
  • Day shifts, 8-10 hours per day

  • Mobile repair, exposed to the elements
  • Possible travel, within 100 miles

Job Description

  • Work interdependently to accomplish tasks effectively and efficiently
  • Responsible for a wide variety of fabrication projects ranging from small items/assemblies to structures and equipment.
  • Performs a range of duties including but not limited to:
    • Study and interpret assembly instructions
    • Fabricate and assemble structural steel products
    • Read and interpret blueprints and sketches
    • Interpret measurements
  • Operate equipment, including but not limited to lathes, drill presses, grinders, saw and cutting tables, forklifts, scissor lifts, telescopic forklifts, booms, and material lifts.
  • Willingness to periodically complete mobile welding operations

Qualifications

  • Must possess a wide range of your own basic hand tools and mechanical skills. Tool list provided at interview
  • Must have experience in metal fabrication, at least 5 years of hands-on experience preferred
  • High school diploma / equivalent
  • Knowledge of welding techniques: MIG, TIG, Stick, FCAW, and Brazing
  • Capable of using oxy/fuel torch
  • Knowledge of all common metal types including but not limited to copper, lightweight aluminum, industrial iron metals, stainless steel, carbon steel, nickel, copper, and aluminum.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematics
  • Ability to interpret measurements, read fractions, and a tape measure
  • Ability to read shop prints
  • Understanding of basic hand and power tools and their use
  • Ability to continuously move and lift 50 or more pounds
  • Ability to promote workplace safety and lead by example
  • An insurable driver’s license is a must (through our provider)

Compensation

$18.00-30.00 per hour, depending on experience
