Commercial & Heavy Trucking
Local, Regional, and Travel Services
Before accidents or incidents lead to failures in commercial and heavy trucking industries, it’s good to be proactive and have a contact on standby with expertise in large-scale trucks and trailers.
This also includes industries that work with docks, forklifts, platforms, ramps, guard rails, or assemblies that operate within a range of tolerances, like motorized conveyors, assembly machines, and mixing kettles.
Commercial applications apply to a wide variety of business operations and equipment. Most of us are moving at a fast pace with a multitude of tasks happening each day. When accidents that result in structural damages happen on the job site either to our equipment or to a building on a customer’s property, they rarely occur at a convenient time.
These are just a few examples from recent projects for commercial and heavy trucking customers.
- Defective & damaged loading docks
- Cracked forklift attachments
- Broken & separated safety ladders
- Fractured catwalks & mezzanines
- Deformed aerial baskets and platforms
- Degraded staircases
- Impaled columns & beams
- Collapsed forklift ramps
- Detached & disfigured OSHA barriers or guard rails
Over-the-road, heavy trucking keeps many commercial businesses moving. Structural issues on any truck in your fleet, much like your trailer(s), come in a variety of ways. Most of these issues result in a stop in business and a loss of income. Much like brick-and-mortar commercial operations, preventative maintenance and routine inspections are important.

Prioritizing safety
Your workforce relies on your fleet and machines for safety and reliability. This helps ensure that daily operations run efficiently. This means your equipment should be free from cracks, separations, and excessively worn parts.
When a team member is out of work because of an injury the costs of business elevate well above the cost of a proactive repair.
Preventative maintenance (PM)
Inspections should be performed on a routine basis by a qualified individual. Lucas MWF is equipped to troubleshoot, identify, and correct issues.
Customers also frequently contract us for our welding and fabrication expertise on commercial and heavy trucking topics like structural integrity, repair operations, or design optimization.
Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP)
Not every issue can be caught in advance, however, it’s better to be aware of a concern before Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) catches the issue. The THP has the authority to stop operations pending the correction of the safety-related issue. In some instances, they’ll issue fines upon repeated offenses.
