Front Discharge Parts & Kits
We manufacture and sell front discharge parts and kits nationwide.
Mixer drum skins, hatch doors, and blades/fins will inevitably wear down and degrade mixer performance and structural integrity. There’s often a significant lead time on new/replacement mixer drums which results in lost income.

In-Stock & Custom or Discontinued Parts
We will also manufacture parts for custom and older models.
LucasMWF makes replacement parts and kits for front-discharge concrete mixer drums with shorter turnaround times and with quality at or above OEM standards.
Skins, blades/fins, hatch doors, and drip edges come in a variety of sizes, thicknesses, and material types. Most of the OEM parts that we produce are in stock and ready for shipping. If custom parts are requested, we average two weeks for production and shipping if we already have the drum model.
On custom or older model front discharge drums that have been modified or are no longer produced, we will manufacture parts. These drums are usually brought to our facility so we can pull detailed measurements before we go into production.

Skin Material Types
- ASTM A36 – This steel option is the most widely used and cost-effective. As most OEMs use this in their production, many of our customers request to have their drum skins stay as recommended by the drum producer.
- ASTM A572-50 – Grade 50 is the next step up in material strength compared to A36. This material is most commonly used for smaller fleets that have trucks in constant circulation. Skin wall thickness wear is reduced resulting in extended drum life.
- AR400F – AR plate is the highest grade we offer. These drum skins resist the greatest amount of slurry friction and heat. They’re usually requested for special applications. While these are usually produced to order, we’re usually able to have them shipped out in 10-15 days.
Blade/Fin Material Types
- AR200 – This grade is a higher performance abrasion-resistant material when compared to that of A36 mild steel. Abrasion resistance extends the life of the steel plate as it shows less wear in response to repeated friction. AR200 is the only blade/fin material type we currently offer.
Drip Edges
- ASTM A36 – Mild steel drip edges often receive little wear and are infrequently replaced. Much like the front cone section, parts towards the discharge end are not usually exposed to heavy friction like the mixing sections of the drum.
Hatch Doors
- ASTM A36 – Much like the skins, A36 is our best selling product line in both the .1875 (3/16”) and .2500 (1/4”).
- ASTM A572-50 – This material option is also provided to match the grade 50 drums.
- AR400F – To match our premium skins, we’ve also developed premium doors for those who request them. Much like the AR skins.
Material Thickness Options
There are a variety of combinations when mixing parts or going with all single-thickness drum assembly. Multi-thickness drums are usually considered a cost-saving option. Many customers choose to use thinner materials just before or beyond the roller track ring, toward the discharge end.
As the front cone receives significantly less abrasive wear, it’s often that most rebuilds don’t need to address this end of the drum. Alternatively, the rear cone, belly section, large cone, and mid-cone (sometimes) are subject to churning/mixing operations, which receive accelerated wear.

Multi-Thickness Option 1
- .1875 (3/16”) – Rear Cone | Belly Section | Large Cone
- .1350 (10 ga.) – Mid Cone | Front Cone
- Hatch Door & Frame – matches Rear Cone | Belly Section if purchasing with skins
Multi-Thickness Option 2
- .2500 (1/4”) – Rear Cone | Belly Section | Large Cone
- . 1875 (3/16”) – Mid Cone | Front Cone
- Hatch Door & Frame – matches Rear Cone | Belly Section if purchasing with skins
Singular Thickness Option 1
- .1875 (3/16”) – Rear Cone | Belly Section | Large Cone | Mid Cone | Front Cone
- Hatch Door & Frame – matches Rear Cone | Belly Section if purchasing with skins
Singular Thickness Option 2
- .2500 (1/4”) – Rear Cone | Belly Section | Large Cone | Mid Cone | Front Cone
- Hatch Door & Frame – matches Rear Cone | Belly Section if purchasing with skins

Hatch Doors
LucasMWF hatch doors are beyond the current industry production standards and are manufactured as a universal fitment.
From forming to material thickness, fastener design, door hole placement, and fastener type, our hatch design was aimed at easier access inside the drum with larger openings and locking fasteners. Our hatches benefit welders, chipper staff, and any other staff needing access to the drum internals.
Most of our hatches are produced in ASTM A36 material and in the following two thicknesses. Parts are sold individually and the welded square nuts are serviceable in the event they need to be replaced.
